Daylight Savings, Fall 2024
This project presents a set of three 6" × 8" typographic postcards announcing the end of Daylight Saving Time on November 3, 2024. Color is incorporated to explore how hue, contrast, and saturation can enhance typographic hierarchy, group related information, and guide viewer attention. Using only the provided text, each composition establishes a distinct tone, visual rhythm, and typographic structure. Color is used not just for decoration but as an active element in shaping emphasis, separating content blocks, and signaling urgency or relevance. Together, the three cards demonstrate a range of formal strategies for communicating complex information to varied audiences, through both type and tone. This project emphasizes clarity, typographic experimentation, and the evolving role of color in editorial and public communication design.
